Dubai, the paradise sitting on the Persian Gulf’s southern shores… the seventh heaven nestled in the Arabian Peninsula.   Dubai boasts of a heady and enticing mix of the old and the new, the traditional and the high-tech.  What’s more, Dubai boasts of having some of the best of everything.  The best hotels, some of the tallest skyscrapers, the grandest shopping malls (where the products are tax-free, to boot!)… oh, it is not surprising that Dubai is dubbed as the Pearl of the Persian Gulf.   You may think that, with all these attractions,  Dubai may be an expensive place to take a vacation.  But, really, if you are just blessed with some travel savvy, you can enjoy cheap holidays to Dubai.

Dubai indeed is a great mix of the natural and the modern.  As a start to your cheap holiday to Dubai, you can go and try Dubai’s bounty – the sea and the beaches.  If you want it sandy, powdery and white, the beaches found in this country isn’t something to sneeze at.  In fact, the country boasts some of the world’s best.  If you want it cheap, you can just go to the public beach.  Most of these have the fabulous backdrop of world-famous buildings such as the Burj Dubai.  The waters are quite warm, with temperatures at a low of 22 degrees Celsius come winter and a high of 35 degrees Celsius  during the summer.

Now, if you find the sea to be a bit salty and the wind a bit strong, you can also go people watching.  Or else, you can head back to the hotel pool for a brief.  Remember, the use of hotel pools are free of charge for those staying there, so make the most of it – swim as often as you can.  Other activities that involve the sea would be diving at the coral reefs, where you will witness a wealth of marine life.  These world-class diving can be found at Sharjah, or at the east of Fujairah.

Other forays to the water that you can try would be the amusement part found in Dubai City.  Wild Wadi, which is near the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, is a popular hit not just for children but for grown-ups as well.  The attractions you can enjoy include water sports like surfing, as well as rides that will surely stir up your adventurous blood.  When the heat is up, this is a perfect way to cool down (and have cheap holidays to Dubai), as you relax and get away from the hurly burly of Dubai City.

You can also take a cruise along Dubai Creek.   When once, trading vessels traversed all the way from Africa, the Middle East and India, sleek cruise boats can now be easily seen here.  If you are on a cheap holiday to Dubai with a special someone, you can try to have a romantic dinner cruise along this waterway.   A special treat would be the ancient yet well-preserved architectural structures that you can see along the way.  To save on this, you can also hire a wooden row boat.

Now, Dubai is not all about water!  Another way you can enjoy a cheap holiday to Dubai is to ride the dunes or to go on a desert safari.   Try your hand on the SUV and go up and down and almost warp speed along the sand dunes.  This do-it-yourself roller coaster ride is quite an exciting experience.   You can cap this event with a sumptuous dinner at the dunes.  However, if you easily get dizzy and carsick, you should avoid dune bashing.  Believe us, it’s not for you.  Now, if you have more money to spare, you can try the more comfortable Hummer H3 instead of an SUV.

If you get tired of the golden yellow color of the desert, you can go and get a spot of golf, where you can look at verdant green.  Of course, this may cost an arm and a leg and may not be on your list as you aim to get a cheap holiday to Dubai.  If you want something more affordable, you can also try sand golf.

Another way of seeing the desert in a different light would be to go up, up, up a hot air balloon and look at the majestic and expansive beauty of the desert.   You can also travel the desert by night, just like the Bedouins did.  With the camels and tents, you can spend the night under the stars.

If you want to go to a colder clime, don’t worry, Dubai boasts of a gigantic indoor skiing area (currently the biggest in the world) at the Mall of the Emirates.   You can go rushing down the slopes while enjoying the coolness of its -4°C temperature.

Yes, even though you are under a budget, it doesn’t mean that you can’t have fun in Dubai.   Instead, you can avail of cheap holidays to Dubai, without breaking the bank and without having to spend an arm and a leg!
